A new year long program, in which dancers will train intensively, honing their technique and artistry skills under the supervision of permanent and guest faculty of New York Dance Project, who have worked with companies such as:
Designed to give each dancer one-on-one attention during class and rehearsal times in order to ensure the best possible environment for learning and artistic development, the Contemporary Program will help dancers cultivate solid foundational skills, while also pushing them to explore the limits of movement and artistic expression. Students will take classes in contemporary and modern techniques, contemporary partnering, improvisation, and ballet, as well as learn repertory taught by faculty and participate in the creation of new works throughout the year. In addition, faculty will work with students throughout the year to develop and refine career plans, mentoring students so they enter into the field as well-versed and prepared as possible.
The year-long session will begin in September of 2018 and run through April 2019. Classes are taught Monday through Fridays, varying in schedule throughout the week. A technique class in either contemporary, modern, or ballet will begin the morning. A sample schedule may be found below.
